Travel Serbia, North Macedonia, and Turkey with a US Visa

Hey there! I wanted to share my recent travel experiences with you. I got my US Visa in January 2023 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. With a US Visa, you can travel to many countries without needing to apply for their specific visas. I read somewhere that there are around 25 countries you can visit with a US Visa, but I want to share my first-hand experiences.

My Travel Itinerary

From April 4 to 11, 2024, I traveled to Serbia, North Macedonia, and Turkey. Here's how my schedule looked:

  • Belgrade, Serbia: April 4 to 6
  • Skopje, North Macedonia: April 6 to 8
  • Istanbul, Turkey: April 8 to 11

Belgrade, Serbia

My journey started in Belgrade. When I arrived at the check-in counter, I was held up for almost an hour because the supervisor was looking for my Serbian visa. I explained that my US Visa allowed me entry, but they needed proof. After showing them the official document and link, I was finally checked in.

Serbia Visa Policy: Since October 30, 2014, Serbia allows holders of valid US, Schengen, UK, and EU visas to enter, transit, and stay for up to 90 days within a six-month period without a prior visa application.

Skopje, North Macedonia

Next, I flew to Skopje. This time, the process was smooth. The check-in staff quickly verified my US Visa and let me through without any delays.

North Macedonia Visa Policy: Holders of valid US, UK, and Canadian visas can enter North Macedonia without a short-stay visa, provided their visa is valid for at least five days beyond their planned stay. This policy is in effect from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024.

Istanbul, Turkey

My final stop was Istanbul. I had previously applied for a Turkish visa in November 2023 but was denied due to a lack of travel history. Thankfully, with my US Visa, I could easily obtain an e-visa online or at the airport within minutes.

Turkey Visa Policy: Philippine nationals with a valid US, Schengen, UK, or Ireland visa can obtain a 30-day single-entry e-visa through the official website, making travel to Turkey hassle-free.

Reflections

Traveling with a US Visa truly made my journey seamless and enjoyable. Each country had its unique charm, and the ease of entry allowed me to focus on exploring and experiencing new cultures. If you have a US Visa, I highly recommend taking advantage of the visa-free or visa-on-arrival policies in these beautiful destinations.

Getting a Netherlands Schengen Visa

As a first-time applicant for a Schengen Visa, I decided to apply through the Netherlands.
